I Saw the Sign. And Then Again. And Again - A Green Dragonfly

We all receive signs from our loved ones who have passed.

I’ve noticed quite a few baby dragonflies zooming around our yard the last couple of weeks who have been a lot of fun to watch. They’ve been bright turquoise blue, lime green, and burnt orange….just gorgeous. Anyway, because of this, I asked my mom if she could say hi to me via one of the dragonflies. Could it land on me for a bit? I love dragonflies, but I understand how afraid of me it might be. (This might be asking a lot.) They were so delicate and beautiful. I would love to have one land on me for a bit. I wouldn’t hurt it.

A few days pass. Yesterday as I stood on our side porch by myself, a tiny, 1-inch long neon green dragonfly landed on my right thumb ever so gently. I immediately smiled because I knew it was her! “Thanks, Mom,” I said aloud. It perched on my thumb for about 10 seconds, just the two of us looking at each other, and then it flew away.

My heart filled with gratitude for my mom’s message - her love reaching back to me from wherever she is.

I love it!
