Sustainable Living

Reuse, recycle, upcycle
Of course, we recycle here in St. Pete, Florida, but I also like reusing stuff you may not think to. We recycled chunks of concrete into new “stones” for our landscape beds, for example. If you need something, look for used first. I thoroughly believe in reusing as much as we can. Not only does it typically save resources, but it invokes your creativity as well. And creativity sparks passion.
I love vintage anything.
Gardening
I dabbled in gardening as a kid but lost interest until last year. We live in a sub-tropical climate, so we’re able to garden year ‘round. I’d say I have a light green thumb. Some things make it, some things don’t. But I always plant with the highest intentions, and I’m always learning.
Animal Products
I love ice cream. I love bacon. But I recently learned how bad they are for us humans in the short term (causes inflammation=disease) and long-term (61% of all greenhouse gas emissions). That’s not good. We’ve been marketed to for the past 60 years or so that meat is good for us. It isn’t for many reasons, and I’ll explain why.
